This is a nice refillable journal & is exactly what I was looking for! It’s rich, dark brown leather (smooth on the outside & rough on the inside) & came with a legal-ruled lined journal notebook. The paper is a good weight with just a touch of “roughness” to it to really capture & hold ink or pencil lead, depending on your preferred writing utensil. No bleed-through when writing with ball point or gel pens. This journal has a pen/pencil loop, but it will not hold anything larger than a standard-sized pen or pencil. I write with wide-barrel pens & pencils, as they keep my fingers from cramping, so this loop doesn’t work for me, but I’m not going to hold that against this journal. The journal itself is well made, and all the stitching is tight & secure. Overall, I’m very pleased with this journal & feel that it is money well-spent.
Love my journal. It does have a bit of a smell but it is subsiding. I did treat with leather conditioner. Regular pen fits but nothing that has finger grip. Added photos to show color before conditioner and after.

This is a beautiful journal! Real leather and well made. I expect this will last for years of use and eventually get that patina that only real, untreated leather gets. Definitely recommend!
I like this product very much. It’s a little heavier than I expected, but it is also sturdy and practical. It fits nicely in my purse, and I plan to use it for many years.
I have been journaling for a while now and going through a few in the past. This is definitely the best I have had. Not only does it look sleek and way more expensive than I paid for it, but it feels that way too. The refilling is very easy as well.
This was a gift for the minister who preformed the wedding ceremony for my daughter. It was a great gift. Very beautiful and great quality. I loved that the leather was vintage looking- not hard and stiff. When i gave him the journal- he thought that it was hand made.
I was searching high and low for a A5 journal with a pen loop and got on different websites and even locally as well. then came across this and was skeptical as the price is slightly higher in comparison to other similar products. Ordered it anyway and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this. I can say this is a good purchase and as I feel it will last a very long time, I'm now not concerned about the cost. The positioning of the Pen loop is not ideal, but in order to make it work, just got a Kaweco Liliput and it fits perfectly fine. This works and I'm satisfied.
