I discovered Nomad crafts company from an Artist (Melanie Rivers). Her journal looked so beautiful that I immediately checked out the company. I did not need another journal for myself, but bought one for my daughter, who is a writer. She and I both love it! It is beautifully made, a real treasure. I hope to have one for myself at some point!

The journal arrived sooner than I anticipated and was carefully packaged. Upon opening it I realized this journal was not the right size for my needs (5X7 is smaller than I realized!). This was my fault but I chose to find out if I could exchange it for a larger journal. So far, my experience with this exchange has not been positive. The first email I sent was ignored entirely, so I sent another correspondence hoping someone might see it. Eventually, someone did and responded but these responses have been slow to come back and there is still no resolution after two weeks (even though I have been clear about what I need the person I have been emailing with doesn't seem to know what steps they need to take to resolve the issue). Since Nomad Crafts prides itself on its customer service I wanted to make it known that this doesn't seem to be the case, as of right now. I am hoping things will be resolved soon.

I'm a professional Santa and intend to use the 6"x 9" version for my "Naughty or Nice" book. I plan to keep it at my side when I'm in my big chair! I think it will be perfect once I get the project completed. The leather binding is a little light for my purposes, so I'm reinforcing it a little. And my next challenge is to translate the children's names into Elvish, (actually Tengwar Eldamar) the language the Elves use, and then inscribe them on that fantastic paper. I'm looking forward to using it next Holiday season.

I bought one of these. A few things to say about my experience. Shortly after purchasing on the web site, I received shipping details. It said it be about a week before it would arrive. I was pleasantly surprised that it arrived 2 days later via Amazon. Color me surprised. Couldn't be happier about their shipping.
Then there's the book! It's amazing! It looks just like what you see in their photos and videos. This particular book, the 'Book Of Shadows, is made of excellent quality materials. It turned out much higher quality than I could have imagined. You see handmade leather bound journals online all the time. But way too rarely do they live up to the expectations set out by the ones making and selling them. Nomad hit this one out of the park.
Then there's the paper! It's looks and feel absolutely ANCIENT! They really pulled everything off when designing and making this book.
I'm keeping these in mind for the upcoming holidays, because I know people that would be absolutely stunned to receive one of these.
Edit: I somehow forgot to point out that the price on these are ridiculously low considering the quality of parts and manufacture overall. It's a no-brainer if you're on the fence about getting one. You won't be disappointed.

I saw this journal on an Instagram post from an artist whose work is always spectacular. I investigated Nomad and found the journals. They were beyond my budget as I am a retired schoolteacher, but I was mesmerized. I threw caution to the winds resolving to eat peanut butter for a month and bought it. I love it. It looks and feels like something Socrates or at least Shakespeare would have carried. My art journaling attempts are pitiful in comparison to nearly anyone else, but I am having fun and isn’t that what it’s all about?

The look and feel of it is great. A wonderful aged look and feel to the paper that I'm really looking forward to playing in. I did some initial test scribbles using charcoal, colored pencil, watercolor, ink, ink with water applied and finally a marker. They all took to the paper beautifully with no bleed to the backside of the paper. I'm impressed and glad I made the purchase.

I got this journal as a grimoire for my daughter’s journey into pagan witchcraft. I got the 11.7x8. The journal is lovely. Sure it’s a little expensive but it’s actually leather and hand bound artisan paper. Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a special gift to themselves or a loved one.

I bought this on Amazon UK. I had really hoped the journal would look like the one in the pictures, but there's sadly a slight variation. The leather does not have an "overhang" past the pages / the leather doesn't extend past the pages. To my disappointment, it's vice versa. This is a detail that I'm really bothered by.
Otherwise I like the look and feel of the journal. Beautiful distressing/aging on the pages.

I recently bought two of your deckled paper leather ledgers. Absolutely wonderful. The paper does in fact look a thousand years old. Very rare to find handmade paper. To my surprise it does work with a fountain pen. Although The choice of nib is important. The music nib puts down too much ink to work well, since it is very wide. It looks great at first but gradually spreads illegibly. However my medium and fine nibs work very well. The antique look of the paper almost requires a fountain pen, aesthetically. Notably, no matter what nib you use it does not show through on the opposite side of the page, so you get full use of both sides if desired. A fine nib with this paper looks incredible. It almost demands that you write. Very Shakespearian. The smooth but unfinished look of the leather binders is perfect. Let me suggest that a great expansion of your product would be to sell unbound sheets of your paper, say 50-100 per order. I highly recommend your product.

This is going to be my next journal; I keep a travel and going out journal where I record observations and things done. Ran across this journal in a YouTube video by Jeremy Siers. Immediately began the search to find the company and buy one for myself. I was extremely impressed when it showed up (fairly quickly as well) and I have been journaling/sketching in it daily. I ordered directly from Nomad Crafts and then realized it was a bit cheaper on Amazon so I emailed the company. Ishan responded within an hour and refunded me the difference. I don't usually write reviews unless either the item or the customer service is outstanding but in this case it was both. If you are on the fence, do yourself a favor and order one. You will not be disappointed!

This journal has great weight to it and no medium - ink, color pens, gesso, paint or mod podge seeps through to the next/back page! The pic below - "Gastroparesis" I put so much mod podge on it because none of the word strips would paste down smooth. The pages are super stiff, but... no seeping!
I like the old vintage look to the pages. Gotten alot of compliments on it. I will be buying a new one! :) Totally recommend this journal!
