I LOVE old maps, old history, etc. I received a journal last May from my Daughter for a Birthday Gift. I love THAT. I saw THIS, and I ordered it. Simply because I knew how it would look. I was NOT/AM NOT unsatisfied. It is by floating globes and my degrees. I look over at it, and I am in love with it.
Would I EVER write in it? NO, it is too amazing!! I bought a feather pen with an ink well, because it made it all look the part. Some of the pages are wrinkled and it just MAKES the scene/set up PERFECT!! I love the smell of it. I would HIGHLY recommend it. My daughter will get one for her next birthday for SURE!!

This journal is amazing. The overall quality is great, and I love the old school look and feel of the pages, as well as the awesome key that holds the journal closed. The pages are awesome to write on, and glue on (one of the reasons I use this journal). I first got the idea to purchase this journal from Jeremy Siers from YouTube because I also enjoy whiskey and cigars, and this journal is perfect for jotting down your thoughts about cigar and whiskey notes, and how they pair together. You can also glue your cigar bands in the journal for your reference when you’re going back to look which cigar you want to re-purchase. Lastly, this journal is aesthetically pleasing. It looks great sitting by my cigar and whiskey books, humidors, and whiskey bottles - oh, and after a while the leather patinas, and it looks so great! If you’re on the fence about purchasing one of these, just do it already, you won’t regret it!

Very nice piece, however, there is no key with any of the set of three that I purchased. Little disappointed that there isn't a key as advertised, but still a very beautiful vintage looking piece.

My wife purchased this for me as a journal after I saw someone using it. It's a beautiful journal but unfortunately you cannot use fountain pens on the jute paper. No matter how thick the nib or how much ink you use, for some reason you have to make several passes on the paper for ink to actually make it onto the page. I used multiple pens with multiple nibs and none of them worked. If you're ok with using a roller ball for your journal then you're in for a treat; if not, look elsewhere.
